The Conduit Hackers Getting Banned.

The Conduit Hackers Getting Banned.

Regular players of The Conduit might of noticed the annoyance that hackers in the game have caused. At first their was infinite health/ammo, but unfortunately the amount hacks only grew from there. Now it appears that action is finally being taken against the online hackers of The Conduit.

The picture above was taken by one of the hackers that has been banned thus far when they tried to go online on The Conduit. Using Nintendo of America's website, a search on the code shown ( www.nintendo.com/ ) reveals that they can't connect because "unauthorized activity has occured in an online feature of a Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection game".

It's great to see that online hackers are getting this treatment which they deserve, hopefully it will continue onto other wi-fi enabled games where hackers are a big problem. So far the hackers that have been banned have been unable to lift the ban, so The Conduit online service will be free from them for a while.

That's nothing new. Just saying.

Also, people CAN get around the ban. I'm still banned from when I hacked on Mario Kart (which is a universal ban, it affects all of my games) and I can still play online.

Actually, you could just be right. These are SSL Certificate Bans. Thanks for the info Cheery.

E: Disregard the above, Nintendo are actually banning the Serial Number (mind you, it is possible that this is just another checksum or something)

And yes, people have got around it. ;D

Thanks anyway Cheery.

Do it before all the hackers figure out how to bypass it.

I know that they haven't caught all the hackers yet (going from the origin of this article)

I think you missed the point KK was making, the hackers have already found a way around this ban, just as they did with the MAC address ban.

I can't find anything about them getting unbanned when I checked the forum the news originated in (source 1 from my source, and the source of source 3 of my source)

GOOD! I hate hackers so much! They completely ruin the online experience for so many people. I hope Nintendo send these hackers back a data packet that completely frags their consoles.
These hackers seriously need to get a life if their idea of satisfaction involves reprograming a game's code so they can flog other players. So if your a hacker, and your reading this:

I didn't say they were getting unbanned, I said they have found a way around the ban, which means they are using hacks (like they had to with the MAC address bans) unless you go onto the forums where it's being discussed, you wont know about it, and forums are not a reliable source. I was going to report about this back in July when the first MAC address bans were put in place, but I couldn't find a source, all I had were people it had happened to and forum links.

The stupid thing is, if they actually contacted Nintendo, they could get unbanned, but they probably have to give some of their details to Nintendo and that's why they don't. I know of one person that called Nintendo after they were MAC address banned for using hacks on Mario Kart, they have now had the ban lifted.

If you get busted hacking online you should be completely banned from any online games.

Yes, because NORMALLY the hackers aren't wanting Nintendo to know HOW we are getting around the ban. Otherwise they could patch it again.

There's always more than one source, Cheery. Google is your friennnnnnd.

Maybe Nintendo needs a special 'Hack' room for online games (Such as Mario Kart and The conduit) and anyone caught hacking in normal rooms will be permanently banned. So then people who use hacks can play against others who use hacks until some smart ass spams too many items and causes the room to crash
