Miyamoto: Have confidence in vitality sensor

Miyamoto: Have confidence in vitality sensor

In a late string of shout-outs to core Nintendo gamers, Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto has told gamers to have confidence in Nintendo and its ability to develop the Wii Vitality Sensor.

Since its out-of-the-dark announcement at E3 2009, the vitality sensor - to be attached to the Wii remote in the slot at the back of the remote - has sparked nothing but a whole lot of skepticism. Asking for a response to this skepticism, The Mercury News spoke with Shiggy.

"Ideally we would have been able to talk about this in terms of the software implementation rather than just the sensor itself," Miyamoto said. "I don't have any indication for you (of what we have in the works) other than to say that we have lots of very creative ideas."

While unable to list any specific ideas, Miyamoto has insisted that Nintendo will be able to do something innovative with the peripheral:

"We understand the challenge before us, and we have met these challenges in the past. We just ask that people have confidence in us."

What the vitality sensor will be capable of (other than reading your vitality) remains to be seen, but if late peripherals are anything to go by, then Nintendo won't be disappointing anyone who is waiting for the release of the vitality sensor.

Puzzle games like Tetris! I never got the N64 bio sensor so I'll probably pick this one up for the collector in me.

Looking forward to more information about software for this peripheral!
