E3 2009: Sky Diving, Archery & Basket Ball Shown in Wii Sports Resort

Nintendo has announced three new playable sports for their upcoming title Wii Sports Resort.

The game will begin with your Mii jumping out of a plane, in skydiving, before making a graceful landing on the Resort. Archery looked a lot better, and really showed off MotionPlus in actual gameplay. Bill Trinen, Nintendo's main man to demo games, had trouble aiming and really needed to concentrate to hit the target, as you would need to do in a real game of archery. The Wii Remote, with MotionPlus, is used to aim as the bow, while the nunchuck is pulled back as an arrow. Overall it's a great use for the Wii's controller, and we can't wait to get our hands on it.

Next up it was time to shoot some hoops. Bill and Reggie had a shoot off, complete with scripted terrible trash talk. End result: Reggie just made it over the line with the 'money ball'.

Wii Sports Resort will be released in Australia on July 24.
