While PS3 sales took the top of the chart in Japan last week, all eyes have been on the effect the price-cut has had - and will continue to have - on Wii hardware sales in North America. With the week ending on October 3, the Wii clocked up in excess of a huge 150,000 hardware sales. This is double the weekly sales rate for the majority of the year - and is now selling at the same rate it was this time last year. It doesn't look like slowing down globally either. While the PSP-Go has gotten off to a disappointing start for sony, new Wii bundles released around Europe and in the UK are providing more value for money and as such a sales boost is expected. Interestingly enough, sales have gotten progressively bigger since the price-drop, not vice-versa, pointing the Wii in the right direction yet again.
