About Wii Sports Resort
"Fun in the Sun!" That is the motto best suited to the lovely Wii Sports Resort, which is filled with lavish beaches, unexplored forest and a wide-range of species that can only be found on the island.
Purchased by Nintendo in 2005, the island has been transformed into one of the worlds most spectacular sporting and holiday resorts, offering holiday goers twelve amazing activities to keep them busy when they want a break from pure relaxation and partying.
Wii Sports Resort has quickly become one of the World's premier holiday locations, offering a wide range of accommodation, through from basic beach shacks, to lavish, 5-star accommodation right in the heart of the island. While the island is only small (it will take you roughly 2 hours to walk right around), there's so much to do and so much packed into the pacific wonder, yet the many man-made structures don't ruin the gorgeous serenity that the island has to offer.
With 17 wonderful nightspots and bars, 42 restaurants, 88 shopping arcades and 1,230 sunbeds, Wii Sports Resort is the ultimate "city in the Pacific".
INTERESTING FACT
Wii Sports Resort has twelve amazing sporting activities for visitors to get involved in. There is a monthly competition where holiday goers can enter into teams and compete across the twelve activities.

Getting there and around
Getting Around
There are several ways you can travel around Wii Sports Resort. A shuttle bus route operates along the main Resort road, stopping at all the major hotels and resorts, as well as the major shopping arcades and activity locations. It won't take you more than 5 minutes to get from one place or another on the shuttle. Alternatively, you can walk along the many walking tracks. Wii Sports Resort encourages as much activity as possible and there is plenty of signage to help you if you get lost. You can also rent a scooter or small 4WD, each of which will send you bag a few pennies.
Getting There
Nintendo Travel Center organisers monthly tour groups to and from the island from most major cities around the world. The tours last several weeks and stay at the official Wii Sports Resort Hotel. It takes in all of the best activities and tourist attractions on the island. The tour is suited for anyone of any age.
Alternatively, flights to Wii Sports Resort from Sydney flying Qantas will set you back around $1200 round-trip. The main airport at Wii Sports Resort is very tiny and is located on the outskirts of the island. Buses come and go every 5 minutes and take you to the nearest shuttle bus stop. From there you can get on the shuttle and head to your accommodation. If you plan ahead, you can pick up your scooter or 4WD from the airport and then return it to any of the many rental locations around the island.
Visas
Tourists from Europe (excluding Russia), North America, Australia, Japan, Northern Africa and parts of South America do not need a VISA to visit Wii Sports Resort, pending they don't stay on the island for more than 90 days. Wii Sports Resort is a Japanese island and so comes under Japanese law and travel requirements. You should contact your government travel center to confirm whether you need a VISA to travel to Japan.
