Despite it’s cartoonish look and silly name, “Aha! I Got It!” Escape Game is not a kid’s game. It’s an innovative twist on escape room games, where you have to find a way out of a locked room by solving puzzles and finding hidden items to use. If you’ve played The Crimson Room, you’ll know what to expect.
In Aha! I Got It!, Milo has been given a room of puzzles to solve for his birthday, and he has to figure out how to get out. You’ll point and click to find out more about objects and furniture in the room, and use the Wiimote to interact with several items with actions such as shake, twist and pull. Hidden medals can be found which unlock hints if you choose to use them. Experimenting is the key, as you may unlock a puzzle and find a hidden item unexpectedly.
There are a few control issues however. When interacting with an object with the B button, it grips onto that one part of the screen and can’t be moved around except with a vague Wiimote action. You also can’t save whenever you want. Don’t let these stop your fun though, Aha! I Got It! is definitely fun and rewarding to solve, and a successful addition to Wiiware.
